Going One Step Further
What else can the harvested biomass create?
In Namibia, many families live in corrugated-iron shacks. Imagine a young girl coming home from school, wanting to study and build a future, only to find that it is too hot inside and too distracting outside. At night, temperatures drop quickly and deeply, and the house cools just as fast.
What if we could do something about that as well?

We incorporate BioChar into BioLOCKS: bricks made from Roman concrete, using quicklime that we produce ourselves. The purpose is to keep the carbon stored and use carbon finance to help make better housing affordable.
We developed a system to build houses quickly, better suited to the heat and cold. Our aim is to make them available at the same price as a blikkie (corrugated iron shack).
A brick that can change the way a little girl learns and lives.
